The U.S. Department of Defense on Monday
identified a Navy SEAL who was killed -- along with an 8-year-old girl -- in an
anti-terror raid in Yemen over the weekend.
The Pentagon identified the soldier as
Chief Petty Officer William "Ryan" Owens, an Illinois native and
member of the elite, Virginia-based Navy team known as Seal Team 6.
Owens, 36, died and three other American servicemen were injured
in the raid Saturday, which
targeted al-Qaida militants at an Arabian Peninsula compound.
