Pupil who hit her teacher with a book facing disciplinary action

The Gauteng education department said on Friday it was investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident of learner misconduct in the wake of a viral video showing a learner throwing something at her teacher.

The video footage shows the learner throwing what appears to be an exercise book at a teacher in the classroom. The teacher walks out of the class while appearing to make a phone call after being hit by the book.

“Our preliminary investigation revealed that the said incident occurred at Three Rivers Secondary School in Sedibeng. We immediately dispatched officials to investigate this incident accordingly‚” department spokesman Steve Mabona said.

He said officials from the psychosocial support initiative had already started with the counselling process of all pupils and teachers on Friday morning.

He said the process to take the learner through a disciplinary hearing has started.

Mabona said the department had also offered counselling to the affected teacher through the employee wellness programme.

“We urge all our learners to refrain from acts of misconduct in schools; and implore parents to assist the department in instilling learner discipline in and outside the school environment‚” Gauteng education MEC Panayaza Lesufi said.

Zodwa: My Ben 10 is not chowing my money

Zodwa Wabantu may have a younger man in her life but she says that doesn't mean she's a sugar mama financing her man's lavish lifestyle.

The dancer told Afternoon Express this week that the pair knew each other for some time and used to share their money in the past.

However‚ Zodwa made it clear that she would not tolerate commentary that her new-found fame meant that her man could sit on his bum and spend her money.

"I have a Ben 10. I am happy. He is not a (typical) Ben 10. He works... at the bank. You say he is eating my money. No‚ I don't have money. I have known him for four years. We would eat a R100 together and we would survive on that."

She said that she preferred to date younger men because she was not looking for love or butterflies in her stomach‚ but companionship.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE earlier this year‚ Zodwa also denied that she was dating a Ben 10 for attention.

"I am not dating a Ben 10 because I need attention or looking for love. I know what love feels and looks like‚ that is not what I am after. I am after happiness‚ being in a free space and living my best life."

Sex-toy parties give women a heads-up

If you've ever wanted to have some naughty adult fun with your girlfriends, why not have a sex-toy party?

While it may sound crass and uncouth to some, sex-toy parties can be great, harmless fun with a group of consenting adults - and you could learn a lot too.

This is because not only do you get to browse through a variety of toys in the privacy of your home, but a knowledgeable consultant is also right there to walk you through how everything works!

We spoke to Nicola Byrne who is the founder of Bachelorette, a kinky online store that offers these services and more to women looking to have a good time, while learning and purchasing sexy lingerie and sex toys.

Byrne hosts sex-toy parties, mostly for bachelorettes getting ready to walk down the isle, but says any group of girls can hire out her services.

"I started this business in 2006 after realising that there was a need for women to have fun, sexy parties. At the time there weren't a lot of options for women about to get married, except for kitchen parties that consisted of kitchen teas, and grannies and aunts baking up a storm in the kitchen," she says.
"Meanwhile, men could party it up with strippers popping out of a cake and having a blast.

"I realised that women needed their own fun as well, and the idea of the company was born."

To procure her services, you log onto their website and fill out a request.

You will then be assigned a form to fill out with specific dates and times you would like to host the party.

After making a payment, you are then sent a rules form that outlines what is to be expected and how to toe the line.

"Thankfully, we have never had any incidents where things got out of control, and this is mostly because we tend to arrive just as the party is starting so that we don't have anyone buzzing from alcohol or anything and potentially causing a disruption," she says.

"We tend to not go over the top with our showcases, so we don't bring any sex toys that may be overt or crass. Everything is done very tastefully. One of the demonstrators would then start showing off the merchandise and demonstrating how everything is used, as well as giving some lessons on oral sex and hand-pleasuring techniques.

It is risque, but tasteful, so we often advise our clients to not have anyone at the party who may dampen the mood by being offended."

The Bachelorette has different party options for different prices.

Byrne says they offer silver, gold or platinum packages which all consist of different types of fun.

Each party lasts for about 90 minutes.

"The silver package costs R600 and it is a standard lingerie and sex-toy demonstration party.

"The gold package costs R750 and also consists of the sex toys and lingerie demonstrations, but also hiring out of accessories and a gift card, while the platinum package includes a blow-up doll and costs R850."

Byrne says that for an added fee, one can even include bare-butt butlers to serve the ladies drinks or even hire out their male exotic dancers.

Letoya Makhene: The villain returns to Generations

Actress Letoya Makhene is back on Generations: The Legacy to spice things up. She returns after giving birth to her fourth child with partner Tshepo Leeuw.

Portraying villainous Tshidi Phakade on the SABC1 soapie, she is the pinnacle of super-bitch thanks to the underhanded tricks she always has up her sleeve.

Tshidi has done it all - from passing off her brother Tau Mogale's (Rapulana Seiphemo) baby as her own, to gas lighting her arch-rival Nandi Mabaso (Brenda Mhlongo).

"The week leading up to going back to work, I was having separation anxiety. I don't know if it's age or what's going on but it was a difficult transformation," Letoya shares.

"Fans can expect more drama, more adventures and more bedroom scenes. We are also going to be exploring the sibling rivalry between Tau and Tshidi."

The 33-year-old traditional healer holds the controversial Mamlambo storyline in 2016 as her favourite. The storyline saw her character practising witchcraft with a snake that gave her power.

In one memorable and raw scene, a blood-soaked Tshidi emerged looking like Sissy Spacek from the 1976 cult horror classic Carrie. Instead of Carrie's telekinesis, her weapon of choice was an
albino python wrapped over her neck.

"That storyline challenged me in ways unimaginable. It challenged me because spiritually I'm a traditional healer, but I never go into the dark side," she recalls.

"It was difficult because I feared that it would tarnish my reputation. I feared people making the connection that 'she's a sangoma, so it's her thing'.

"Above all, I wasn't ready to work with a snake. I was very close to handing in my resignation ... but then I went into a moment of prayer asking for the courage to carry the story.

"It was just a moment of me realising how strong I am, because I was able to overcome my fear of snakes."

Letoya points out that she has not been practising as a traditional healer since last year because she "took some time off to have the baby".
She adds that she is in the process of setting up her practice once again.

She reveals that as a public figure that is also a traditional healer, her biggest challenge has been landing endorsements.

"Big corporate companies will always think twice before giving you an endorsement deal because of my spiritual practices. But it's not anything that really concerns me," she explains.

On the show, Makhene has had many steamy on-screen love affairs with leading men such as Vusi Kunene, Vuyo Dabula and Moopi Mothibeli.

Her favourite has been Mothibeli, who plays bad boy Smanga Moroka.

Their characters briefly heated up the screen last year and their love scenes were filmed when Letoya was pregnant.

"I remember I worked with him in the time I was pregnant and not once did I feel unsafe with him," she says.

Letoya started in the arts industry as a musician at the age of nine.

She garnered popularity in 2003 as the host of season two of music show Idols SA, alongside Colin Moss.

After a public hiatus, she returned with the role of Ayanda Diale on Isidingo in 2011.

Letoya is currently working on new music and has just released her single Qinisela.

The song was co-written and produced by her father and veteran musician Blondie Makhene.

"One lesson I learned from my father very early in my career, when he was grooming me that I'll cherish forever, he said to me: 'honey, this is showbiz. The only reason for not showing up is because you are dead'," she says.

Zola Nombona and Loyiso MacDonald the Sexiest women April 2018

Nombona beat out fellow actresses Michelle Mosalakae, Motsoaledi Setumo, Makgotso M as well as presenters Ayanda Thabethe and Bontle Modiselle.

MacDonald was competing against Tiisetso Thoka, Donovan Goliath, Jesse Suntele, Solo and Cedric Fourie.

Past female winners include Boity Thulo, Terry Pheto, Babes Wodumo, Pearl Modiadie and Blue Mbombo.

“This is such an amazing way to start my year. I’m ready to conquer 2018. My hard work in the gym has paid off,” an ecstatic Nombona gushed.

“I’ve been working out a lot and I’ve gotten to a place where I’ve started understanding my body and what my sexy is. Your sexy is you and embracing your uniqueness.

“This is going to bring so much attention – but such amazing pressure. For me it’s about showing the people how important following your dream and working hard can do. I am where I am because I respect my art and people.

“I want to use this title in a way that’s going to change the perception of Mzansi’s Sexiest. It’s not just about celebrities posing in their swimsuits. They should be a responsibility that comes with it to society.”

MacDonald, who follows in the footsteps of past winners Vuyo Dabula, Zwelethu Dube and Siyabonga Thwala, was dumbfounded that South African voted him the sexiest man in land – since he has never considered himself to be hot.

“I have no clue why people find me sexy. I guess it’s a subjective thing, people will find something [sexy] about you and that’s cool,” he said coyly.

“It’s probably because of my character on The Queen (Kagiso Khoza). I’m sure my character (Ray) on Zabalaza helped too because people like bad boys.

“For me it’s always about the work, I consider myself first and foremost an actor. But this is so good for publicity and putting my name out there for people who are not familiar with my work. I appreciate it so much.”

Captain Morris 'KGB' Tshabalala poisons himself after parole bid fails

Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesman Moses Dlamini told the publication that they had received reports that Tshabalala had poisoned himself.

“We have sent investigators to Kgosi Mampuru prison to establish the facts."

The publication has learnt from sources that the parole committee for Tshabalala was sitting on Friday.

"His parole was revoked and he is now a sentenced prisoner. After learning the news he has now gone and poisoned himself‚” said a source. "He is in a critical condition in the prison hospital. It is suspected that this may be part of his plan to escape from custody."

Tshabalala‚ who was stationed with the covert crime intelligence unit‚ was arrested in January by IPID officials as he reported to his parole officers in Pretoria.

His January arrest was connection with allegedly defrauding a South African Police Service slush fund out of R563‚ 000. The fund is meant for operational purposes. He was accused of using fraudulent invoices to claim money to install blinds in safe houses in two plush Pretoria suburbs‚ Waterkloof Heights and Brooklyn.

Tshabalala was on parole after being released in 2015 from the Groenpunt Maximum Security Prison‚ where he was serving a 10-year sentence for armed robbery which he committed in Pretoria's Mamelodi township in 1994.

But‚ after losing his appeal in 1996‚ did not surrender himself to prison officials‚ avoided prison and somehow managed to join the police crime intelligence unit.

He was eventually imprisoned after his arrest for a cash-in-transit heist in 2013‚ a crime he was later acquitted of‚ and rejoined the police covert crime intelligence unit.

'Captain KGB' fights for bail as witnesses lie low

‘Babes Is Not Trying To Be Like Zodwa Wabantu,’ Says Mampintsha

‘Babes Is Not Trying To Be Like Zodwa Wabantu,’ Says Mampintsha! The West Ink leading man came to his artist or should e say girlfriend’s defense after she was accused of trying to dress like Zodwa WaBabntu.

Mampintsha rubbishd the claims saying Babes cannot be compared to Zodwa for a few of reasons. “She is not trying to be like Zodwa. Babes is the same as she has always been. She is not scared of Zodwa because you cannot compare the two. Babes is a dancer and singer, Zodwa is just a dancer,” he said.
Mampintsha says Babes is only wearing less clothes because of the season changes not because she wants to be like Zodwa.

“It is summer now. It has nothing to do with Zodwa because Zodwa doesn’t wear underwear,” he said laughing.

'Leave them to fight‚ I will be back'- Zodwa on Zambia deportation

Zodwa told TshisaLIVE she arrived in Zambia late on Friday night ahead of a scheduled performance in the country on Saturday evening. She was stopped by immigration authorities and escorted to a hotel with no real explanation about what was happening.

"They stopped me at the airport and said I couldn't perform. They didn't give me any reasons. I think our promoters were also in the dark. I didn't even leave the hotel."

Zodwa said a fight ensued between her promoters and Zambian authorities‚ and after hours of discussion‚ she was told she would be put on the first flight back to South Africa.

According to Reuters‚ the reason for her deportation was over concerns about Christian morality and fears that her performance would “undermine national values”.

Zodwa said she was not angry with Zambian authorities and hoped to return to the country soon.

"Leave them to fight‚ I will be back when they are ready to have me. There was so much fighting between them. I am just an entertainer who was invited to perform. I was stuck in the middle of it all. I would love to still perform in Zambia in the future."
Earlier this week Zodwa told TshisaLIVE that she would go ahead with plans to perform in the country‚ despite suggestions that she would not be welcome by authorities over her decision to not wear underwear while performing.

"I think that people are just trying to sabotage me and the event. The underwear thing is my choice and I don't understand why people are so upset. There are Christians who do much worse things behind closed doors."

She said that authorities were hoping to pray for her and cast out her "demons" while she was in the country.

"I will never wear a panty. I won't change who I am for them. Maybe they think they will pray for me or make me better. I survived 2017 and I will survive this year. They can go and f**k off if they have a problem with it."

“The attackers instructed his wife to cover herself while they opened fire on Cde Mkhize and left him dead on the scene. This dastardly assassination of Cde Mkhize leaves a huge void in the ranks of the ANC‚ the alliance and the mass democratic movement in general. He was a true revolutionary who served our community with dedication.”

SAPS spokesman Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed the deaths and said investigations were ongoing.

She said there were no other reports of violence related to the voter registration.

#Shedecides calls for change

Former deputy president and UN women’s executive director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has called on South Africans to change their attitudes towards women.

Speaking at #SheDecides conference, Mlambo-Ngcuka said attitude change would ensure young people accessed sexual and reproductive health services.

By synchronising the ideals that govern #SheDecides and #SheConquers – an international women empowerment initiative and its local counterpart – the policy gaps found globally, regionally and nationally could be closed
#SheDecides was founded by Dutch minister of foreign trade and international development, Liliane Ploumen, in 2017 to promote the rights of adolescents

  • Stand up, speak out: engaging new positive conversations, celebrating the bold and expressing public support for the rights of adolescent girls and women to decide for themselves.

  • Change the rules: making sure that laws and policies make it easy for her to decide.
  • Unlock resources: getting the money, skills and technical support, from governments, donors, foundations and individuals to secure access to quality information and services.

The global movement #SheDecides has 36 champions, one-third of them ministers of government, and more than 40 000 friends.

Nigeria plane makes emergency landing in Ghana: airline

Lagos - Nigerian plane made an emergency landing in Ghana after smoke was detected in the cabin, officials said Friday, in the latest incident to hit domestic and foreign airline operators.

The aircraft, owned by Arik Air, was travelling from Lagos to Accra on Tuesday when the fault was detected but no-one was hurt, a company statement said.

"Arik Air flight W3 304 from Lagos to Accra on March 6, 2018 declared an emergency in line with standard operating procedures, when (an) unknown source of smoke was detected in the cabin", it said.

The incident occurred 130km from the Ghanaian capital but the plane "landed safely in Accra without further incident", it said.

It was the latest in a string of incidents involving the aviation sector over the past month.

On February 7, an emergency exit door fell off a Dana Air jet as it landed in Abuja after flying in from Lagos.
Six days later, an Atlanta-bound Delta airlines jet was forced to return to Lagos after a fire was detected in one of its engines with passengers using emergency slides to evacuate the plane, officials said.

On February 17, an Air Peace plane had to delay landing in the southwestern city of Akure because cows had strayed onto the runway. Another Dana Air plane overshot the runway at Port Harcourt on February 20 due to heavy rain and flooding.

And on Wednesday, the Nigerian government ordered a complete audit of Dana Air's operations to determine the technical fitness of its fleet.

The airline was grounded after a 2012 crash outside Lagos that killed all 153 on board and six on the ground. Mechanical failure and pilot error were blamed.

Zimbabwe army detains Mugabe staff without food, water ... interrogates them for hours - reports

Harare - Staff at Robert Mugabe's Harare mansion were detained without food or water and questioned for hours this week by military officers who pressed them for information on recent meetings held by the former president, reports from Zimbabwe said on Friday.

Four security staff, including chief security officer Funny Mpofu were taken for questioning at an army barracks in Harare on Wednesday morning and only released at the end of the day, reports the Zimbabwe Independent.

Grace Mugabe 'anxious'

The paper said the staff were questioned about "the visitors Mugabe has been receiving and the agenda of their meetings".

Mugabe was not at the house at the time, having gone to South Africa to visit his sons. Former first lady Grace Mugabe, who stayed behind, was said to be "very anxious and not sure whether to remain there", an unnamed security officer told the Independent.

Mugabe caused a stir in the ranks of the ruling Zanu-PF after he held a meeting on Sunday with former cabinet minister Ambrose Mutinhiri, who quit the ruling party to head a new party with links to Mugabe and his allies.

Mutinhiri said he resigned from Zanu-PF in protest against last year's "military coup" that led to Mugabe's resignation.

The meeting has fuelled speculation that Mugabe could be planning a political comeback, which would spoil President Emmerson Mnangagwa's chances of unifying Zanu-PF supporters in Mugabe's former rural strongholds ahead of polls later this year.

The private Daily News said that a total of four of Mugabe's staffers were detained on Wednesday.

No food or water

"The workers were denied access to food or water and they were being asked names of the people who have been visiting the former president," an unnamed source told the paper.

In another report, a source told the private NewsDay: "The interrogations were centred on who visits the former president, how (the workers) spend the day and if the ex-president discusses politics. Basically, they wanted to know the thinking of the old man and his plans."

There's been no word from the government on the alleged detention of Mugabe's staff. Zanu-PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo told NewsDay that he had "no information" on the episode.

How Ngcobo cult kept its sex slaves

"He was my king, whatever he said I did. I would not question that. I worshipped him."

These were the words of 23-year-old Siphosomzi Tshefu, one of the men accused of the murder of five police officers and a soldier in Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape, two weeks ago.

Tshefu was referring to Thandazile Mancoba, one of the leaders of the Seven Angels Ministry, which has been implicated in the murders.

Tshefu was applying for bail in the Ngcobo Magistrate's Court on Thursday along with five co-accused Andani Monco, Kwanele Ndlawana, Siphesihle Tatsi, Phumzile Mhlatywa and Phuthumile Mancoba.

Tshefu, the son of a soldier, testified about the weapon used in the attack which started at the police station on February 21.

He said he had used a gun stolen from a police officer in an unrelated incident. He disposed of the weapon allegedly on the instructions of Thandazile.

"No one gave us orders except Thandazile. [I] had no decision of not listening to him because he was my king, whatever he said I did. I would not question that. I worshipped him."

Magistrate Nozuko Mviko asked whether he would obey if Thandazile told him to take a gun and shoot himself. He answered "yes".

He said he could not afford bail. The only person at the Mancoba home who would have paid his bail was Thandazile, but he was dead.

He said he joined the church around 2002.

He said he would plead guilty to the charges against him.

All the accused face charges of five counts of murder, two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances and attempted murder.

I have no privacy in cells

Tshefu's co-accused Ndlwana, also testified on Thursday.

He told the court that his sister was married to Thandazile and that his father was a police officer based in East London.

The 22-year-old said one of the reasons he wanted to be released on bail was so that he could tell his sister what had happened the night Thandazile was killed.

In the cells where he was held, there was no privacy and he couldn't say certain things to his sister, the court heard.

Thandazile was one of seven Mancoba brothers who led the controversial Seven Angels Ministry, which has been likened to a cult, in the small rural town of Ngcobo.

Thandazile was killed during a shootout in which the accused were arrested.

The Grade Nine drop out, who stared at his feet as he spoke, said he had left school because his belief did not allow him to study and work.

He said his mom from the church and Thandazile took care of him, fed him and he was given money for clothes. He did not know where the money came from.

The lord would show us what to do

State advocate Nomapha Mvandaba asked where church members would get money, if they were not allowed to work.

He responded: “Bekuzobonisa ubawo uba senze njani (The Lord would show us what to do to survive)."

Mvandaba further asked whether he would comply if he was told to commit crime in order to survive.

He answered: "If his will says so, I do what he asks me to do. I don't question him. He did not say I must apply for bail but I used my mind to think which he gave me. (sic)"

Turning to the weapons used in the shootout at Seven Angels Ministry, Ndlwana said four rifles were taken, one at Nyanga and three at the police station.

When asked whether he considered that the deceased cops would never see their families or that they were the breadwinners in their homes, he chose not to answer those questions.

Magistrate Mviko asked him what guarantee there was that he would not kill other police officers if he was released.

He answered: "I have no object to do that and I have no intention of killing cops."

Stolen weapons

Ndlwana also told the court that the weapons used to kill the police officers were stolen from two police officers in Butterworth and Cala.

He refused to answer when he was asked what was used to bomb a Capitec ATM, the night the police officers and soldier were massacred.

The Ngcobo Magistrate's Court was packed to capacity as people gathered to listen to the evidence.

Co-accused Phuthumile Mancoba, who is also a church leader, Tatsi and Mhlatywa will apply for bail on March 19.

A sixth accused Andani Monco, chose not to apply for bail.

THERE IS NO LAW IN ZAMBIA THAT COMPELS LADIES TO PUT ON THEIR UNDERWEAR – DIFFICULT EDUCATES SUMAILI

Comedian Thomas Sipalo alias Diffikoti says there is no law in Zambia which compels anyone to put on an underwear.

The comedian is responding to remarks attributed to Minister of Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili that the South African entertainer Zodwa Wabantu would not be allowed to enter Zambia if she won’t put on her underwear.

Zodwa Wabantu is known for her dances in South Africa and for dressing provocatively without under wears. She is set to make a surprise appearance at Karasa Karayo’s album launch at the weekend at Lusaka’s Hollywood City but uncertainty of whether or not Zodwa will be granted entry into Zambia by the immigration abounds, following declaration by Sumaili that until the South African proves she will be wearing her underwears, she won’t enter Zambia.

Some sections of the media reports that Sumaili says Zodwa is banned in Zambia because she will corrupt morals. But when contacted, Sumaili said Zodwa is free to come to Zambia provided she comes with her panties.

However, in response Diffikoti says wearing a pant is one’s choice.

“… And how many women wear their pants? In whose interest is the same woman (Minister Godfridah Sumaili) stopping Zodwa?,” Diffikoti asks.

He states that those who claim are holy should just not attend the function where Zodwa is set to appear adding that those who enjoy watching nudity should gladly attend to watch the private parts of the South African dancer.

“It’s a free country. Ni Zodwa wanyoko (Does Zodwa belong to your mother?),” The comedian asks using Rupiah Banda’s most preferred choice of words.

And Diffikoti says banning Zodwa Wabantu is yet another misplaced order by what he terms ‘a useless selective ministry’.

Gigaba 'erroneously' said Atul Gupta is not a SA citizen - Home Affairs DG

Cape Town - The Department of Home Affairs has attempted to clear the confusion surrounding the naturalisation of the Guptas by clarifying that Atul and Rajesh Gupta are indeed South African citizens, but that fugitive Ajay Gupta is not.

Home Affairs Director General Mkuseli Apleni said on Wednesday that Atul had been naturalised in November 2002 and Rajesh in July 2006. Both of them appear on the IEC voters' roll.

Apleni said that Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba had "erroneously" told the a media briefing on Tuesday that Atul Gupta was not a South African citizen.

Atul was apparently naturalised before Gigaba became minister of home affairs, the department said.

Zambia bans Zodwa Wabantu, Africa's most popular nude dancer sex-bombing the continent

Africa's most popular nude dancer, controversial South African entertainer Zodwa Wabantu, has been barred from entering Zambia to perform. She was due to perform in Lusaka, the capital, at the weekend during the launch of a new album titled Pandemonium by Zambian musician Karasa Karayo.

Zambia's National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili told state-run newspaper The Times that the government would not allow Zodwa to "strut her stuff anywhere in the country".

"It is clear we are a Christian nation and we uphold the values of morality and ethics… as a nation, we cannot allow such. I mean, someone performing without underwear, there's no morality there," she was quoted as saying.
Wabantu has become famous to some, notorious to others, for her provocative dance  steps with no underwear, and moves that drive men and women crazy. Many describe her as a dancer sexually or sensually bombing the world, or the devil incarnate sent on earth to destroy millions of souls.

Recently, she was banned from performing in Zimbabwe and several other countries are wondering whether she should be allowed to perform there
At some events, she removes her underwear before performing, or while she's performing, as thousands look to see deep inside.

At several performances, security guards had to keep the crowd away from devouring her with their hands and eyes.  Yes, she's seen as a super star by millions, and the devil incarnate by many moralists.

32-year old Zodwa Wabantu, whose real name is Zodwa Libram, is now a global sensation. Reporters chase after her and she's booked every minute and is smiling to the bank. There are so many offers that she can no longer keep up.
Zodwa was born in Dlamini, Soweto and later relocated to Rockville. She left her home when she was 16 and started hustling and living with a friend for a while.

According to The Sun of South Africa, Zodwa says she was raised by her late grandmother, Maureen Ndaba and started working at a now defunct nightclub called The Rock where she was a bar lady. After she failed matric, she studied for a six-month call centre course.

"I was trying to hustle for myself and I tried to make a better life for myself. After working as a bar lady, I felt that I needed a better job. Since I failed my matric, I studied for a call centre course and I managed to get a job at a call centre," she says, according to The Sun.

Zodwa says that she went to Durban through her job and that's where she started her own business of leasing flats, and she rented them out to students.

"I then became a regular at Eyadini hangout spot because of my love for good music and dance. I am now part of the Eyadini family. I don't depend on a man financially, but I'm pushing for a better life for myself and my 11-year-old son, Vuyo," she says.

Zodwa says that she is proud of her body and she does not like putting on underwear as she feels comfortable in her own body.

"My boyfriend knows that I don't sleep around. When I'm dancing, I embrace my body and men appreciate my moves. But I am not there to sleep with them," she says.

Zodwa, who was recently roped in as an ambassador for an energy drink, says that her mission is to get into the world of acting and TV presenting as she wants to build a career in the industry.

"I am a hard worker and I know that I am destined for greater things. I want to push the boundaries to get on TV screens and entertain people," she says.

Zodwa says that she wore that black number at the Durban July with pride and confidence.

"I am not looking for fame and for me to wear my black dress showing my assets was an act of embracing my freedom. I went to the Durban July to work and I didn't go there for publicity or to pose for pictures. Eyadini had a marquee and I had to look after our clients," she says.
